Holiday Gift Guide: Skin Care Bests for Mom

Holiday Gift Guide: Skin Care Bests for Mom

I don't know about you, but I come from a family of women who are kind of obsessed with skin care. My mom, grandmother, and Lebanese aunts taught me (almost) everything I know.

So naturally, I want to pay it back to the OG Lebanese mammas who passed down their good-skin genes. These are some of my favorite, most effective, deemed-mom-approved products I've tried this year.

THE CLEANSER
I won't keep on waxing poetic about the Orlane Paris Crème Royal cream-to-oil cleanser. You can read all about it here. But I will reiterate that it's a decadent cleansing experience (yes, there is such a thing), and what mom doesn't love decadence?!

THE MOISTURIZER
Even in my 30s, it's clear that my skin is becoming dryer and more sensitive than it used to be. I like this Murad Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisturizer for my mom because it's lightweight, but packed with advanced Hyaluronic Acid technology to help skin attract and retain water deep within its surface. Coconut Extract provides additional moisture for a smooth texture, while shea butter, avocado, sunflower and olive fruit oils condition skin for suppleness and to support the natural protective barrier.

THE NECK CREAM
"You can always tell a woman's age by her neck and her hands." My mother began preaching this sentiment to me, along with the rest of the skin-care gospel, when I was about 15 years old. When I tried StriVectin's #1 Best-Selling Neck Cream, I knew my mom would attempt to take it away from me.

THE EYE SERUM
Mom's won't be the only ones to covet the Talika Eye Detox Contour Gel. I keep this little magic wand in the refrigerator to chill the roller-baller applicator, and I use it on mornings when I need a major pick-me-up. However, if used as a treatment over 28 consecutive days, it can be a true revolution in tackling the inner factors of dark circles, such as the oxidation of pigment escaped from micro-capillaries (giving dark circles their blue or brown coloration), the degradation in collagen production (that causes the dull look of the eye contour) and the micro-inflammation of tissues that cause redness. The metal roller applicator allows a rapid penetration of the serum and helps with puffiness by its massaging action.
