Lip Service: Top Lipsticks to Covet in 2016
A bright, bold lip is kiiinda one of my beauty signatures. Some people associate this power play with being pulled together, sort of the epitome of polish. But I see it as just the opposite. With the right lip (and some help for a great moisturizer), you can get away with wearing little to no makeup. This stop motion video by Maris Jones demonstrates just how jammin' a good lip can be.
Now, onto the important stuff. The one thing each of these lipsticks has in common is that they are long-lasting, highly pigmented, and have the moxie to elicit a game-changing pout.
For a Shiny, Creamy Fuchsia Lip, try Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Satin Radiance in Le Fuchsia (07)
For a Bright Matte Red, try Maybelline New York Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Siren in Scarlet
For a Creamy Red that tilts toward Orange, try Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Satin Radiance in Le Orange (13)
For a Red/Orange that errs on the side of Chili Pepper, try NARS Heat Wave
For a Universal Red that plays chameleon on the lips, try NARS Dragon Girl Lip Pencil. Honestly, it looks good on almost everyone.
For a Shockingly Bold Pink that you're pretty sure you can't pull off, but I promise you that you can, try NARS Schiap. It works on various skin tones, and with a multitude of hair colors.
Bold lipstick not really your thing? Try these slightly more bashful, but equally as beautiful picks: Laura Geller Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick in Lexington Ave. Coral, Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Poppy, and Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Liar.
