When I first heard of Chromatic Gallerie shoes, I saw a rainbow of endless possibilities–the most scintillating, eye-poppingingly, delightfully colorful pumps. From Wishful Pinking to Blue Crush On You, Chromatic Gallerie is the go-everywhere, do-everything heel.
To prove my point, I teamed up with CG to create “All-Day Color,” shot by my talented friend, Eric White. In Pumpkin It Up heels, I galavanted all over Brooklyn to explore some favorite local haunts. See how I mixed and matched my shade-laden looks to take my Chromatic Gallerie pumps from brunch to bedtime.
Morning Outfit:
Denim button-down shirt (swiped from my boyfriend’s closet)
J.Crew denim shorts
J.Crew neon belt
Rebecca Minkoff bag
Keap and Hooper Necklace
Urban Outfitters cuff and vintage bangle
Odette New York ring
Warby Parker sunglasses
Nails: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Olive Branch and Cherry, Cherry Bang Bang
We began at the unabashedly unique Rye Restaurant, where each piece of silverware and dish ware is slightly different, and where chef Cal Elliott serves up heart-stoppingly good dishes like eggs benedict with savory pork belly on a buttermilk biscuit. And don’t get me started on the asparagus with aged balsamic.
Next, we sauntered over to Life:Curated, one of my most frequented boutiques. With brands like Won Hundred, Monrow, Timo Weiland, and Dolce Vita, I had a blast rummaging through the racks to outfit myself in all the different looks I could create with my Chromatic Gallerie pumps.
Look #1: Everyday Casual
The hints of orange in this textured sweater top pop perfectly with my pumpkin-hued pumps. This look is ideal for taking colorful heels from day to night.
Look #2: Special Occasion Dinner
Whether you’re hosting at home or going out on the town, opt for a stylish look that’s equally as comfortable. This shift dress was a stellar look on its own, but we cinched it with a two-tone belt for a more svelte silhouette. And the bag, well, the bag was just icing on the cake.
Style Tip: A low side ponytail adds instant sleek to a nighttime look.
Look #3: Birthday Party Bash
Go on, be bold. I love this dress for its bright accent colors and abstract floral print. The elastic waist gives it shape (and comfort!), and even though it was short in length, the 3/4 sleeves gave it ladylike appeal.
Style Tip: Don’t be afraid to rock a bright pink or orange lipstick with busy prints like this. Keep the accessories minimal and the rest of your makeup simple.
After coming out of a clothing coma, we bebopped over to the Farmer’s Market for fresh veggies and flowers. Who says you can’t wear heels to buy produce?
Style Tip: I like to button the top button of my shirts, but to change it up, opt for buttoning only the top two for a 90′s throwback ala Eddie Vedder.
My favorite part of the day came when we stopped in McCarren Park to play with a couple of my favorite Frenchies, Hank and Lady. Even Lady wore colorful shoes…are you ready to freak out over canine cuteness??
Next we walked to Greenpoint to visit the insatiably talented Helen Dealtry of Woking Girl Designs. Her hand-painted scarves are TO DIE FOR, so she let us intrude her studio space to try on a few looks, and play in the garden a bit.
How To Dress Up Denim Shorts:
Pair your cut-offs with a feminine top like this Zara floral blouse and add a.) a statement scarf or b.) a leather jacket or vest.
Style Tip #1: It’s OK to mix prints. Just stay in the family of a particular color palette.
Style Tip #2: Choose a modern version of the leather jacket. I love this long MINT Jodi Arnold dress/jacket as an alternative to the classic biker jacket.
Style Tip #3: Don’t be afraid of trends. Sport a bold lip and top knot.
In keeping with the color theme, I even tried out the pink hair trend with Streekers temporary hair paint. I was conservative, but next time I’ll try some ombre ends…
Well, then we had to eat dinner. Enter a wardrobe change and an amazing meal at Frankies 457 Spuntino, one of my favorite Italian hot spots.
Nighttime Look:
Madewell blouse
Rag & Bone capris
Nails: Chanel Blue Rebel and Coco Blue
Style Tip: Color block with unexpected hues–no one was expecting a full outfit of lavender, red, and orange. But it worked.
Finally, we ended our night at The Bell House to see friends Lucius play a show. Jess and Holly, the two lead gals of this dynamic quintet, are known for their ethereal harmonies and magnetic sound, but also for dolling up in bright, matching outfits on stage. This seemed the only logical way to end a day filled with color.
Overall, the day was a color success. From prints to color blocking, morning to evening, the outfits to pair with Chromatic Gallerie pumps are vast. I’m happy to dish on the deets.

Love this story! A perfect example of how a simple pair of pumps can be so versatile.
LOVE each look! Great job- you’re such a cutie. Also, did I miss the lipstick credit?? Because I need to buy that pink TODAY :)
Thanks, MG!! And the lipstick is NARS Schiap, but Makeup Forever makes a less matte one that’s almost the exact same shade! It would look rad on you. xx
Inspired to pop some color into my black & white world, thanx lady!
Yes! You always rock a good bold lip, though. :)
Love love this story and the shoes look so comfortable, which can be hard to find in a stylish pump. I’m dying for that leather vest, and I’ll take one of the cute frenchies as well. :)
Right? The Frenchies are my favorite part of the story. And the shoes ARE so comfortable.

p.s. I haven’t had the guts to ask anyone yet, but I know you know how naive I am…what is the deal with painting the 4th fingernails a sweet contrasting color? I like it, but where did it come from???
Bearhug!
Ha, you are so adorable. You know, I’m not sure when that first started happening, but about a year ago or so I started seeing girls around town switching things up with nail color. I’m sure it’s all inspired by the whole nail art craze. I’m so glad you like the post! xx
This is awesome! So fun to read and love, love, love all the amazing photos. It was great to be with you in Charleston.
Thanks, Kim! Had a blast in SC. Can’t wait to do it again soon! xx
LOVING your looks, and that hot pink lip.
